About Jennifer

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

I pray that you find encouragement here… the boldness and courage that comes from God alone to face the brokenness of this world.
A little about my family and me…

(Disclaimer: My life is not nearly as neat and tidy as these pictures may lead you to believe. There are seven of us… Use your imagination!)

Ebenhack Family-126

– All five of our kids are “Haitian.” Yep, three are adopted — one with special needs, and two were born to us during our eight years of mission work in Haiti. (See if you can sort them out.)

– My children have and probably always will stretch me to my limits… from laundry management to lego control to love and laughter.

– I’m currently writing a memoir of our nine-year adoption process and life in Haiti. Some of God’s works just cannot be left to vague memories!

Jennifer & Jarod Ebenhack

– My husband, Jarod, keeps me sane and is still teaching me about boundaries.

– He loves running, cycling, and swimming as much as I love writing and blogging. And he claims he loves me just a little bit more than I love him. I like that (but I know the truth).

Ebenhack Family-185-Edit

– If it were up to me, I’d always be the last one to leave church or any other social function. I love to talk with others — friends or even strangers; sharing life stories and encouragement whenever possible.

– I’ve experienced enough brokenness in this messed-up world to stand in complete awe of the goodness and grace of God. I know He longs to reveal His faithfulness to you as well.

I’d love to meet you!

Please introduce yourself in a comment below, or say hello on my facebook page.

And if you haven’t already done so, please click the link on the side to subscribe to my blog. I promise not to flood you with e-mails: I’m too busy with my gang of seven to blog more than once or twice a week!

Take courage, my friend. Hope in the Lord!

Jennifer, you are such a blessing! I could not help crying through reading your entire blog. At the same time, I felt encouraged and strengthened. I feel compelled to stop focusing on my problems and think of you. I thank God for your obedience and your faith.

Hi Jennifer! I was just thinking about your daughter the other day. Not sure why…I guess the Lord brought her to mind. I was her 2nd grade teacher when you were in Hillsboro when you came back to the US after the earthquake in Hati. Please tell her hello from Mrs. Winter.

Hi Jennifer! What a fun “about” page. I’m already excited to get to know you better. I’m Christy and also a contributor at TBM. We just had our fifth baby in January, and I can so relate to being stretched! This way anything I accomplish is through God alone!

Hey Christy! Thanks so much for stopping in! Oh my… yes, I remember when my fifth was a baby. Those days were so precious and yet so…um, impossible. 🙂 You are right, this is all through Him! Looking forward to getting to know you too!

    Hi Jennifer,

A friend of my sister recommended your blog to me, saying that you have also been through the “hards” of life and I may find encouragement and hope from you sharing your heart.

Hi Hannah, I’m so glad you stopped by! How I’d love to sit and talk with you… I read your blog and my heart truly aches for all that you’ve been through. I pray that God continues His beautiful work in and through you! I’m so glad you’re writing. You are right — you are and WILL have incredible hope to offer to others because you’ve walked through the fire. May God give you grace and courage for the journey!!

I’m very encouraged by families who adopt. I believe God has put it on my heart but if its Gods will he is yet to do the same with my husband.
I look forward to reading through your posts. 🙂

Hi Tanya! Thanks so much for stopping in and for your comment. I’m sorry that you can relate to my journey at all! But like you said, God’s grace and love are always there for us… And I think we understand them more because of the darkness! Praying for the Lord’s peace to fill your heart!
