About Take Courage

Welcome to Take Courage!

You don’t need me to to tell you that our world is broken. Whether you’re just awakening to that realization, deeply struggling right now, or longing to help mend some of the brokenness, you know you need the courage and boldness that comes from God alone to press on.

My prayer is that through stories of my pain and healing, adventures from our family’s eight years in Haiti, and lessons God is currently teaching me, you will:

1. Finding healing in the midst of brokenness.

2. Be encouraged in your daily walk with Jesus.

3. Find boldness to reach out and minister beyond your comfort zone.

Here is a taste of the courage the Lord is holding out to you…

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

“…be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand.” Ephesians 6:10-11

“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11

“Why do you say… ‘My way is hidden from the Lord…’? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.” Isaiah 40:27-31

“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Deuteronomy 33:27a

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

“I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous…” Joshua 1:5b-6a
